YWAM is passionate about people coming to know Jesus and YWAM teams can be very creative about presenting the message of the gospel to different groups in relevant, effective ways. 



In partnership with a local church and other agencies, a team focused on reaching Bengali Hindus has recently created a website to explore major life questions important to their cultural group – from marriage to mysticism – and presents answers found in Jesus’ teachings to a group normally resistant to or isolated from such teaching.
 


The YWAM leader, Sunita, who was involved in creating the website, says, “It has been far more successful than I expected. We are averaging 170 visitors a day, all from the region we are trying to reach.”
 
The site was built for Bengali Hindus, one of the largest people groups in the world. “There are around 280 million Bengali language speakers world wide,” says Sunita. “In West Bengal alone, there are 80 million, most of whom are Hindu. This website is a useful too because it allows Bengali people to anonymously find out about the teaching of Jesus, download scriptures, and see the testimonies of devotees of Jesus – all presented in a way that is tailored to their culture.”
