With 900 million followers, Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world. The majority of Hindus live in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, where they are also some of the last people on earth to hear about Jesus and experience His message of salvation and transformation.

The U.S. Center for World Missions recently reported that a survey conducted in India of the 15 most widely spoken languages revealed that six out of 10 Hindus would like a Christian to tell them more about Jesus. Despite that desire, millions of Hindu people will live and die without ever meeting a follower of Jesus. They are among the least-reached people on earth.

YWAMers in North India are passionate about changing those odds. They want every Hindu to experience the goodness of God as shared in Jesus, and they are inviting you to help.

The Navratri festival is one of Hinduism’s most important festivals – “Navratri” means “9 nights” in Sanskrit, and during this time the nine forms of the female divinity known as “Shakti” are worshiped with fasting and daily rituals. This year, the Navratri festival takes place from October 16-25th and during this time, YWAMers in North India will be engaging in prayer and fasting for the unreached Hindu people groups of India and around the world. You can join them.

YWAM North India has been producing a small prayer guide for the benefit of their own workers in this region. Now, however, they want to see the distribution of this guide increase, recognizing that the enormous task of presenting the Hindu world with the message of Jesus is not one that can be accomplished without the support and prayers of many more believers.

Colorful and informative, the guide will help you understand the Navratri festival and other Hindu beliefs, acquaint you with some Hindu unreached people groups and teach you how to pray effectively for them. Why not get your prayer group, church, YWAM center or school to participate?

YWAM Frontier Missions has fewer than 500 people working among unreached people groups in South Asia, the region where most Hindu people live. They need you to stand with them for ten days to support their efforts to introduce Jesus to Hindus who want to know more of Him.
