I've never gone on a YWAM outreach before, and I hope as I go I can give you a bit of the sights and sounds I and the rest of the outreach team experience. As an intern for YWAM, I've just arrived at the YWAM location in Colorado Springs. I will be a junior at Calvin College in the fall, but this summer I want to experience journalism for missions, and discover what YWAM is doing in the world.
Right now, it is the end of June 2003, and as I spend my first days here with YWAM, I'm exploring the YWAM property, which is a picturesque Christian camp on a mountain overlooking the city of Colorado Springs. I'm also enjoying the chance to get to know the staff of Mission Adventures, who will be taking us on the outreach.
Mission Adventures, a YWAM ministry, provides a chance for youth groups to see God change lives and to experience missions through short-term outreaches.
Today, we're busy getting ready for the two outreach teams to arrive.
