If you have a small amount of time and you want to try something new, consider volunteering as a mission builder with YWAM. You don’t need to complete a Discipleship Training School to offer a few hours, a few weeks or a few months of your time in many of our locations, if you are willing to serve in any area of need.

Missions Builders work in a wide variety of skilled and unskilled jobs, contribute to the ongoing mission of YWAM centres and get the chance to be part of a YWAM community, working alongside staff and students who are enormously grateful for them.

YWAM offers a variety of training options designed to equip you to do something purposeful. Our training is practical, with the expectation that students will learn by doing. Whatever you want to learn to do - grow in your relationship with God, tell others about Him effectively, demonstrate His compassion in practical ways - YWAM has hundreds of programs to prepare you to do it well. You can study how to use everything from sports, worship and design to midwifery, biblical studies and agricultural development as a missionary.

Most of our training runs in three-month modules and includes a lecture phase and a outreach phase where learning is applied. Our foundational program, the Discipleship Training School is a pre-requisite to all other training and a time to focus on your relationship with God and discover the opportunities there are to build His Kingdom.

Whatever you want to do – you can do it in YWAM! Being on staff with YWAM is an adventure in faith!

Join staff for a couple of years – or stay for life. Staff entry is managed locally, so contact directly the team that interests you for information on their vacancies.

Salary and Benefits:
YWAM does not pay its staff. Yes, you read that right! Most of our volunteers meet their financial needs by partnering with friends and churches who support their ministry. In some areas, our staff work in other businesses for financial, practical or ministry reasons.

How to Apply:
To join YWAM staff you first need to complete a Discipleship Training School (DTS) or Crossroads DTS. DTS is the pre-requisite to all our other training and opportunities and is offered at over 200 locations around the world.

Some roles may have other requirements - contact the location you are interested in directly for information.

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a volunteer movement. Our lack of decentralized funding has enabled rapid growth and means that all our individual staff and ministries partner closely with other believers and church bodies to fund their work.

Giving to an individual YWAMer:
YWAM does not provide a salary - most YWAM staff have financial partners such as churches and friends who provide funds so they be active in their ministry. If you would like to support a particular YWAM staff person or family, please contact them directly to find out the best way to do this, as financial and legal structures vary from nation to nation. In some cases your donation will be tax-deductible.

Making a donation to a YWAM Ministry:
YWAM is a very decentralized organization, and therefore does not have a centralized funding office to receive or distribute general donations. You are encouraged, instead, to give directly to a specific location – any of which would welcome your support.

Please use our search feature to contact a ministry of your choice directly – you can search by nation or ministry focus - and find out from them what is the best method to direct funding their way.
