YWAM Angola and the School That Time Forgot.

You know that a people group are isolated if they don’t even turn up on a Google search.

YWAM Huambo in Angola have focused their efforts on three locations in their nation where the tribes are so remote, so inaccessible, that the government has not yet made plans to address such basic human rights as literacy and primary education.

The Kamakoyo region of Angola is one of those locations, and is home to several tribes who scrape a living from an inhospitable landscape. A small team began working among different people groups in the area and found that they were responsive to the message of the gospel and have already seen a fellowship of believers start.

The children in this area have no option of attending school, and there is a great desire among the tribes to be literate. Three literacy groups have already been started and YWAM has agreed to assist tribal leaders with the establishment of a school that would serve the Kamakoyo region.

Land has been set aside for the school and plans are awaiting approval by local authorities. Funds have been raised for the building supplies necessary to erect the school as soon as approval is obtained, but this location is so remote that there is no way to get the building supplies from Huambo to Kamakoyo.

You can help by donating funds for the purchase of an off-road vehicle which will serve the YWAM team, first in transporting the school they are helping to build – piece by piece – to its new location, and later as a means for transporting outreach teams to Kamakoyo to encourage the believers and share more of the message which transforms people.

Even people the internet forgot.
